This home was designed to accommodate a retired couple with flexible space to host and entertain family and friends.
Taking advantage of views in all directions, the house was sited over the footprint of an older cabin so as not to disturb any of the existing trees on the site.
The open and flowing main floor spaces allow flexibility of use, and fill the home with natural light and ventilation. A large, multi-use “loft” provides space for sleeping, playing, reading, and relaxing with the feeling of being in the treetops.
A series of south facing dormers provide an ever changing quality of light to the interior, while a material palette of brick, wood, and drywall create an interesting canvas upon which to enjoy the natural setting.
