Fun day today putting together the 30' parallam swing for our Vancouver Buildex 2014 exhibit. The furniture project is a collaboration of six designers. Shelter teamed up wth Blenheim Bros. to design and prep all the beams in our shop, then we assembled on site. Each designer produced a unique swing seat for the set.
I came up with the design concept, and hence bore the stress of how stable this thing would be without any professional engineering. To my relief, you could drive a two ton truck into it and it wouldn't move.
